The changes introduced will affect both online championships and LAN events. To determine the optimal changes to improve the conditions of the tournaments, a group of several esports players, representatives of the CSPPA and ESL, was assembled.
List of changes in the format of the championships held by ESL:
- now matches cannot start after midnight
- teams playing in semi-finals and finals will now have a rest before matches in the next tournament of at least three days
- tournament operators will improve the technical side of LAN tournaments to reduce latency. This will be possible thanks to the installation of auxiliary software that will help with force majeure circumstances
- the changes will affect specifically the format of the championships. For example, the organizers will abandon large groups of 8 participants and level the circular system. The maximum number of participants in a group will now be 6 teams
All changes will take effect shortly. The assembled group of experts will continue to work on improving the tournament conditions and will not be limited to the above changes.
