Valve Introduces Conflict of Interest Declaration for Counter-Strike 2 Tournaments
Valve has updated the official Counter-Strike 2 tournament rulebook with a new requirement — the Declaration of Conflicts of Interest. This addition aims to ensure greater transparency by identifying potential connections between players, teams, and their competitors. The official document has been made publicly available on GitHub.
According to the declaration, all participants must disclose any business or financial relationships that could influence competitive integrity. This includes shared ownership or management, joint licensing agreements, overlapping financial obligations, and other relevant affiliations.
Valve also notes that failing to fully disclose these relationships could lead to disqualification from events or loss of prize winnings, reinforcing the company’s commitment to maintaining fair and transparent competition within the Counter-Strike esports ecosystem.
