🚔 Operation “Virtual Case” Targets Illegal Online Gambling

The investigation is being led by Istanbul’s Cyber Crimes Investigation Bureau, which uncovered that users of the Key Drop platform could open virtual loot cases and convert the resulting rewards into real-world money. This mechanism classifies the platform as a form of online gambling under Turkish law.

Authorities launched Operation “Virtual Case”, resulting in the arrest of several individuals, including Karataş. In total, warrants were issued for 19 people, some of whom are currently abroad or listed as wanted.

⚖ Turkey’s Strict Anti-Gambling Laws

Turkey enforces strict regulations against gambling, making the promotion or monetization of gambling-related websites illegal. The involvement of influencers and public figures in such activities has intensified public and legal scrutiny.
