Cache is back! Valve has officially acquired the rights to the map for CS2
It's official: Valve now owns the rights to Cache — the legendary map where we witnessed that iconic S1mple moment back when he was still playing for Liquid.
The map's creator, FMPONE, revealed that the CS2 devs reached out to him on the very first day of the game’s release:
"It was a huge sign of respect. We agreed immediately — there was no hesitation."
And it looks like the release is just around the corner: dataminers have already found references to Cache in the game files. So forget the Workshop — the map is coming to CS2 as an official addition.
For those who may have forgotten, Cache was removed from CS:GO's competitive map pool on March 28, 2019. It was replaced by Vertigo as part of Valve's effort to refresh the active duty lineup.
Many pro players have been hoping for its return — and now it’s finally happening. Personally, I can’t wait to see the first matches on Cache and feel that warm wave of nostalgia again.
