Wildcard Gaming kicked off their IEM Katowice 2025 campaign with a confident victory over BIG in the first round of the Play-In upper bracket. The match ended with a 2:0 score — 13:4 on Ancient and 16:13 on Inferno.

A particularly notable moment occurred on the first map, where Wildcard Gaming player JBa secured an ace, eliminating all BIG players. This play was crucial in the team's dominance on Ancient. On the second map, BIG attempted to fight back, but Wildcard Gaming maintained their advantage and secured the win.

Wildcard Gaming will now face the winner of the FURIA Esports vs. Imperial Female match in the next round of the upper bracket. Meanwhile, BIG has dropped to the lower bracket of the Play-In stage and will continue their fight for a spot in the main tournament stage.

IEM Katowice 2025: One of the Year’s Premier Tournaments

IEM Katowice 2025 is taking place from January 29 to February 9 in Katowice, Poland. Organized by ESL with support from Intel, the tournament features 24 of the world’s best teams competing for the championship title and a $1 million prize pool.

The final stage of the tournament will be held at the legendary Spodek Arena, known as one of the premier venues for major esports events. The tournament winner will not only receive a significant cash prize but also crucial ranking points affecting future international CS2 tournaments.
