Monte Announces Roster Shake-Up: ryu Returns to Academy Team!
Monte has announced the return of Gytis "ryu" Glušauskas to their academy roster, Monte Gen.
The 19-year-old was initially promoted from the junior roster in March, along with Jack "Gizmy" von Spreckelsen, to replace Viktor "sdy" Orudzhev and Alexander "br0" Bro, who joined Astralis. During his time with the main team, ryu participated in four tournaments with varying success.
ryu's most notable performance was at the ESL Pro League Season 19, his debut at a major event. He helped the team reach the playoffs with victories over FORZE and FURIA. However, their journey ended in the first round of the playoffs after a three-map series against the world’s top team, FaZe.
Monte's Esports Director expressed gratitude for ryu's efforts and mentioned that the organization will soon reveal the new lineups for both the academy and main rosters. They have a two-week window to finalize these changes before the main team's next LAN event at IEM Dallas, which starts on May 27.
