The premiere of Counter Strike 2 will take place later this year! Valve is inviting players to join the testing phase.

It seems like the impossible has happened! The widespread rumors about the classic online first-person shooter game transitioning to the highly anticipated Source 2 engine have taken the internet by storm, and even turned into a popular meme. Fans of the game have been clamoring for Valve to make an official announcement regarding this upgrade, and their wishes have finally been granted. It's official, Counter-Strike 2 is coming, and it's going to be a free upgrade to CS:GO. The release date is set for this summer.

The series' official website has posted a statement about the upcoming premiere of Counter-Strike 2. According to the developers, it will mark the most significant technological leap in the history of the game. The introduction of dynamic smoke is one of the most noteworthy changes in the new version. Grenades will now create volumetric smoke, making it behave much more naturally and interact with the environment in a more realistic way. Additionally, the impact of server update frequency, also known as tick rate, on player actions will be eliminated, resulting in a smoother gameplay experience. The graphics will also be significantly enhanced due to the transition to the Source 2 engine. Familiar maps will be rejuvenated with new details and visual effects that have been created from scratch. The spatial sound has also been improved to deliver a more accurate and realistic audio experience during gameplay.

The most important news for CS:GO enthusiasts is that they will be able to upgrade to Counter-Strike 2 for free, and all of their previously acquired items will be transferred over as part of the transition. These items will also receive a visual upgrade thanks to the capabilities of the Source 2 engine. A select few CS:GO players will have access to limited tests of the new version starting today.
