HLTV Reveals Evaluation Criteria and Release Dates for Top 20 Players of 2022

The HLTV team presented the evaluation criteria and the release date of the TOP 20 best players of 2022. Changing the previous rules, the editors decided to publish two representatives of the rating per day (up to 12th place), leaving the top three winners to be presented as part of the HLTV Award Show 2022 ceremony.

Criteria used to compile the TOP 20 best players of 2022

• Statistics. The main criterion will be the individual statistics of the player, as well as the context (the importance of the tournament and its specifics)
• Personal awards. The number of MVPs and EVPs ranked by championship importance. For example, the EVP for a major may be more important than the MVP for a small event.
• Sample size. As a criterion, the stability and consistency of the player throughout the year will be taken into account
• Constancy. Player consistency from match to match and tournament to tournament
• Lack of reference to recent events. The editors will take into account performances for the entire year, forgetting about the bias towards recent results

• January 2, 2023 - 18th and 17th places
• January 3, 2023 - 16th and 15th places
• January 4, 2023 - 14th and 13th places
• January 5, 2023 - 12th place

• January 8, 2023 - 9th place
• January 9, 2023 - 8th place
