Rumors: JOTA may replace fer in Imperial Esports
According to the Dust2 portal, the Brazilian esports organization Imperial Esports is in talks with MIBR regarding a possible transfer of JOTA to its CS:GO roster. With these actions, the club indirectly confirms the imminent retirement of fer, which opened the cards of its future after relegation from the home major in Rio de Janeiro.
The organizations are currently negotiating, but the deal is unlikely to fall apart given the successful transfer of chelo in the same direction last summer. All indications are that the deal will close soon, but the actual transfer date could be hampered by the coming holidays.
JOTA has been playing for MIBR since October 2021. During this time, the 24-year-old Brazilian player became the winner of ESEA Season 39: Advanced Division - North America, ESL Challenger League Season 40: North America, ESL Pro League Conference Season 16, CCT Central Europe Series #1 and ESL Challenger League Season 43: North America, and also made it to the TOP-3 at iBUYPOWER Mythic Masters Winter 2021, PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR, BLAST Premier: Spring American Showdown 2022, BLAST Premier: Fall American Showdown 2022 and ESL Challenger League Season 42: North America.
Note that in the summer JOTA became the captain of MIBR at all, which did not affect his performance in any way.
In turn, fer joined Imperial Esports in February 2022. During the season, the 31-year-old Brazilian player became the winner of the OMEN WGR European Challenge 2022, and also made it to the top three at FiReLEAGUE Latin Power Spring 2022, PGL Major Antwerp 2022: American RMR, ESL Challenger at DreamHack Melbourne 2022 and FiReLEAGUE 2022: Global Finals.
It is not known whether fer will take a break or finally end his career. However, the day before, the esportsman went out to the fans on his Instagram to talk about the imminent resolution of the situation.
The nearest championship for the Brazilian team is ESL Pro League Season 17: South American Conference, which will be held in the middle of next month. Here Imperial Esports will compete for one of two available tickets to ESL Pro League Season 17.
