Rumors: Astralis to sign Buzz to replace MistR
According to the HLTV portal, the Danish esports organization Astralis will sign a contract with Buzz to replace MistR. The club reportedly burned through attempts to sign Sprout's Staehr and Heroic's sjuush, thus settling on the young Dane from MASONIC. At the same time, Dust2, affiliated with HLTV, published similar information a month ago.
Buzz spent the second half of the current season with MASONIC, where he moved in August from the ex-MAD Lions. In five months, the 19-year-old Dane helped the team win Dust2.dk Ligaen Season 21, as well as reach the finals of the Pelaajat.com Nordic Masters: Fall 2022 and Energive Cup.
If the transfer goes through, the organization will return MistR to their academy. As the young player has failed to impress with his form over the past months, the club will have to rebuild the training process around the rookie.
It is noteworthy that the possible transfer takes place at a difficult time for Astralis. The season for the Danish team ended after the defeat in the recent grand final of CCT Central Europe Series #4 by Copenhagen Flames. In addition, due to a change in the scoring rules, the team will almost certainly miss IEM Katowice 2023.
This means that Astralis will again have to play at the TIER-2 championships in order to break in the roster. As a result, the next major tournament for the team is ESL Pro League Season 17, leaving a chance to play a new player. Perhaps the team will debut even earlier, as BLAST intends to open the season at the end of January.
In addition, the prospects for the current head coach of castle are unclear. According to rumors, the Astralis organization will soon conclude a full-fledged agreement with HUNDEN, from which all restrictions have recently been lifted.
Possible Astralis CS:GO roster:
- Xyp9x
- gla1ve
- blameF
- buzz
- dev1ce
- castle (interim head coach)
