Rumors: Flamengo is going to sign a CS:GO roster
According to the Dust2 portal, the Brazilian football club Flamengo plans to expand its presence in eSports and sign a CS:GO roster. With the change in esports head at Flamengo, the club will reportedly be close to entering the new scene, with a few incumbent teams on the lookout.
First of all, the club is interested in a project called "LargadosyPelados", which was formed after the disbandment of Corinthians Esports and a number of other teams. Recently, the Brazilian team took part in the open qualifiers for ESL Brasil Premier League Season 13, where they took 3rd-4th place. However, negotiations are complicated due to the presence of contracts with t9rnay and realz1n, who have been in the reserve of B4 Esports since September of this year.
Another project that Flamengo is interested in is also built around former Corinthians Esports players, whose core and coach continued to play together. The club noted that it is already negotiating with the teams of interest, but the negotiations have not yet reached the 100% mark.
It is noteworthy that the first appearance of a football club in CS: GO almost happened in 2020, when Flamengo merged with the B4 Esports organization. However, then the club never appeared on the scene, although it was actively exploring the possibility of breaking into the discipline.
