Official: YEKINDAR leaves Virtus.pro
The Russian esports organization Virtus.pro has officially announced its separation from YEKINDAR. Recall that the 23-year-old Latvian player has been on the inactive list of the club since May, but has spent the last few months in Team Liquid. At the same time, there is every right to believe that YEKINDAR will continue his career as part of the Dutch club, as he managed to redeem his contract.
Marek YEKINDAR leaves Virtus.pro's lair. It was a wonderful trip! Good luck in your career! See you on the server.
YEKINDAR became a real star as part of Virtus.pro, and after that, Outsiders. Here Marek not only became the winner of Flashpoint Season 2, DreamHack Open December 2020, cs_summit 7, Pinnacle Fall Series #1 and ESL Challenger #48, but also reached the playoffs of PGL Major Stockholm 2021, simultaneously becoming the eighth best player of 2021.
I bought myself back from Virtus.pro a while ago and it took a little longer due to a change in ownership. As you can imagine, the whole thing is really complicated and that's why it took several months to complete the following steps. I am grateful to all my teammates for the time I have been on the team and I look forward to announcing my future very soon. Excited about this new chapter in my life,” YEKINDAR wrote.
However, after the Belgian Major, YEKINDAR left the team's starting roster to find himself in a new club. Some time later, the 23-year-old Latvian player appeared in Team Liquid, where he managed to win BLAST Premier: Fall Groups 2022, and also reach the finals of ESL Pro League Season 16.
Now, obviously, Marek will officially become part of Team Liquid and lead the team at the upcoming Intel Extreme Masters Rio Major 2022.
