flixxy suspends esports career
flixxy announced the suspension of his career as a professional player. The 21-year-old American announced this on social networks, citing fatigue and emotional burnout.
I'm about to retire from X13 and with that, I'll also take a step away from competitive CS. This decision has been in my head for quite some time, given that I thought about leaving last season, but I persevered and played this season. A number of reasons that I cannot name, but some of you know, will be officially announced soon. But my personal reasons for quitting are burnout/lack of motivation from playing, as well as a very unhealthy schedule where I wake up at 5:45am for work and then train until 11pm and stay up until midnight.
On top of that, I've been especially demotivated over the past few weeks because I've been dealing with depression. I will still be in touch from time to time, and if I have the desire to play again, maybe I will return in a few seasons. But for now, I plan to take it easy and put together a more consistent streaming schedule, as this is something I've wanted to take more seriously for a long time. I am also going to pay a lot of attention to my mental and physical health. Overall, this is for the best for my development and I wish only the best for all my former teammates and all the friends I have made playing this game.
flixxy hit the scene at the end of 2021. During this time, the 21-year-old American made it to the quarterfinals of Fragadelphia 16, as well as reaching the playoffs of ESEA Advanced Season 41 North America.
From now on, the X13 CS:GO roster looks like this:
- Makzwell
- scar
- Jba
- bootylord
- Kay Jay (coach)
