nexa: "I need a team that is ready to work hard and really succeed"

nexa, who is the captain of OG, in an interview before the start of BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022, spoke about the team's plans for the championship, and also revealed his hopes for the future. Among other things, the 25-year-old Serbian esportsman talked about the recent signings of NEOFRAG and F1KU, and shared his thoughts on playing degster.

The first thing I noticed with the arrival of NEOFRAG and F1KU was their excellent shooting. It's really great and it really helps me and my system work because maybe on paper the system I'm building and the way I want to play doesn't work very well, but if people get in the head then the system is working.

I think NEOFRAG and F1KU are the best duo we could get given the market prices and the spending that OG could afford. It is also important that these guys were interested in joining the team. There may have been better players, but they were either unavailable or not eager to move to OG. We trained with several other candidates, but in the end we decided that NEOFRAG and F1KU were the best option.

I kind of see it as my job to teach them how to play CS properly. They come from TIER-2 and we've only spent a couple of weeks together and you can see they're not very experienced and don't know much about CS. So my job is to get them to make the right decisions in the game. They have the potential to become one of the best, to become star players, so I have to use that potential and turn it into something more. I hope I can do it.

The OG captain also expressed his hope that degster will be able to reach his potential and become a connecting player in the team's success at BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022.

Unfortunately mantuu contracted the coronavirus while we were in Dubai so he was unable to travel with us. But we have degster, who is just as good, he's an amazing sniper, but their playstyles are completely different. Overall, I don't think our expectations are that high.

Personally, I'm going to give degster more room to play and make him feel as comfortable as possible to try and get him back to where he was. I know this guy, and I know that if a player like that is in his comfort zone, giving 30 kills, that could be our winning factor.

At the end, nexa shared his thoughts on the first big LAN tournament for the team's young recruits.

This will be the first time some of the guys will play in a TIER-1 tournament, so it will be interesting to see how they handle themselves, how they can perform, and if by some miracle we get to a big arena, then I will be very happy. I want them to get into the crowd and start gaining experience because I think we're going to play more TIER-1 tournaments than we did with the current roster.

I need a team that is ready to work and really succeed, not just train and play one tournament a month or every two months and hope we do well.

BLAST Premier Spring Finals 2022 will be held from June 15 to 19 in Lisbon at the Altice Arena. As part of the championship, the eight best teams of the spring season from Europe and North America will compete for a prize pool of $425,000, rating points for the BLAST Premier table, and a ticket to BLAST Premier: World Final 2022.
