JW leaves GORILLAZ

JW has announced his retirement from GORILLAZ. The 26-year-old Swedish esportsman has played for the team for the past two months, replacing HS. The player stressed that he intends to create his own team in Sweden.

Just finished my last game as GORILLAZ's stand-in. Now I'm looking towards 2022, where my focus will probably be on building something in Sweden. I believe my greatest strength is team building.

JW became famous during his performances for the fnatic team, in which he became the winner of DreamHack Winter 2013, ESL One: Katowice 2015, ESL One: Cologne 2015, Intel Extreme Masters XII - World Championship and World Electronic Sports Games 2017.

However, after a series of setbacks, fnatic decided to part with their legend and began rebuilding the roster. From that moment on, the 26-year-old Swedish esportsman was inactive for a long time until he received an invitation from GORILLAZ. Joining the team as a replacement for HS, JW competed in the open qualifiers for Intel Extreme Masters XVI - Winter and reached the quarter-finals of the William Hill Cup 2021.

Let us remind you that earlier flusha announced the search for a team for the next season. As for the future of GORILLAZ, the team will probably build a new roster around suNny, as sergej and supra may leave the band.

The current roster of GORILLAZ is as follows:
