Riot Games has introduced a new Escalation game mode for VALORANT. It will appear in the game with patch 2.03.

Escalation is a 5v5 game mode in which participants will compete in the speed of leveling up by making kills. There are 12 levels in total. The winner will be the team that first reaches the maximum squad rank or scores more points in a predetermined time of 10 minutes. Each new level will give players different abilities and weapons.

One of the key features of the new mode is that players cannot use specific agent abilities. Instead, there is a set of general abilities that anyone can use, regardless of who they are playing as.

The squad level will differ from the level of individual players. Each participant will have an individual level of weapons that can be increased. To do this, you need to get a kill with your current equipment.

The developers expect Escalation games to last 7-9 minutes on average. After the match, players will receive 800 experience points. As with Deathmatch, Escalation victories will not count towards quest progress.

Escalation mode strongly resembles Arms Race from Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, a popular game mode that the community has been expecting to see in VALORANT for a while.
