thwifo became the sixth NRG player
North American esports organization NRG has announced the completion of its VALORANT roster by signing a contract with thwifo. The 20-year-old American joins the team to become the sixth player to compete next season.
Now our squad is finally completed. Welcome thwifo to NRG as our sixth player.
thwifo has spent the last year with T1. Here, the 20-year-old American player became the winner of the Nerd Street Gamers: Summer Championship - Open 2, and also took third place in the Nerd Street Gamers: Winter Championship - Open 14 and Knights Arena Monthly Gauntlet 2022: March.
However, since August he has not appeared in any championship. At the same time, T1 decided to leave the North American scene to assemble their new roster in South Korea. Since then, thwifo's future has remained in limbo, although some teams have shown interest in the player.
Recall that the North American organization NRG has become a partner of Riot Games and will take part in the highest competitive ecosystem in America along with Sentinels, 100 Thieves, Cloud9, Evil Geniuses, FURIA, LOUD, MIBR, Leviatán Esports and KRÜ Esports.
At the same time, NRG managed to shake up its roster by signing the backbone of OpTic Gaming. In addition, the club acquired ardiis, a former FunPlus Phoenix sniper, with whom they will pave the way for the new season.
The team's new roster is expected to debut at the VALORANT Champions Tour 2023: Kickoff Tournament, which will take place from February to March in Brazil.
