Rumor: ShahZaM to leave Sentinels
According to well-known insider George Geddes, ShahZaM is preparing to leave the VALORANT roster of the Sentinels. The North American organization is currently looking to rebuild its roster as well as signing an entirely new coaching staff.
ShahZaM has been playing for the Sentinels since April 2020, since the competitive scene appeared. During this time, the 23-year-old American helped the team win Pop Flash, JBL Quantum Cup, VCT 2021: North America Stage 1 Masters, VCT 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers Finals, VCT 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavík and VCT 2021: North America Stage 3 Challengers Playoffs.
In addition, together with the team, he had a chance to take part in the VCT 2021: Stage 3 Masters - Berlin and VALORANT Champions 2021.
The deals with the two experienced coaches will reportedly be finalized soon, but negotiations are ongoing. It is the new coaching staff that will complete the Sentinels roster for next season.
In turn, ShahZaM is set to become a free agent once his contract expires at the end of the year, which means he can join any team for free. As with TenZ, there is a possibility that both players could leave the organization by next year. Previously, there was also information that ShahZaM could leave the pro scene and become a full-fledged content maker.
The Sentinels are one of ten organizations that have made it into the VALORANT American League, which will be based in Los Angeles next season. They will be joined by four other organizations from North America (Cloud9, 100 Thieves, Evil Geniuses and NRG Esports), three from Brazil (LOUD, FURIA and MIBR) and two from Latin America (KRU Esports and Leviatán Esports).
The current Sentinels roster for VALORANT is:
- ShahZaM
- dapr
- Tenz
- shroud
- Rawkus (coach)
