XSET Disbands VALORANT Roster
North American esports organization XSET has announced the release of its VALORANT roster. All players and coaching staff can now consider their options for the next competitive season.
The XSET family, as most of you already know, XSET has not received membership in the Riot Games affiliate program. Obviously, this was sad news for everyone, especially for our VALORANT team, who have been doing great this season. We would like to thank Riot Games for their attention and the opportunity to build such an amazing fan base over the past two years in VALORANT.
Against all odds, we have created a world-class squad and forever left our mark on the history of the discipline. We want to thank everyone who has had anything to do with the game, but most importantly our players, coaches and staff for creating something amazing. All of our players deserve to play in the franchise league and we will support them in the process.
As for our future in VALORANT, we will continue to compete in the female scene as well as evaluate our options for next season.
The XSET organization appeared on the scene in the summer of 2020. During this time, the club made several roster changes, which brought victories in the NSG x Complexity Invitational, Nerd Street Gamers: Winter Championship, Nerd Street Gamers: Summer Championship - Philadelphia and VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: North America Stage 2 Challengers.
In addition, last season the North American team took part in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen (7th-8th place) and VALORANT Champions 2022 (5th-6th place).
In a statement, the organization added that it will remain on stage with its XSET Purple all-female roster as it prepares to take part in the 2022 VALORANT Champions Tour: Game Changers North America Series 3. However, after not being listed as an American League partner, XSET has decided to let go its core roster, which may be exploring options to pursue a career.
Interestingly, the team until the last hoped to stay together and get into the list of partners. According to rumors, the G2 Esports organization, which was preparing to move to North America, was actively interested in the roster. However, the latest scandal with the club's CEO forced Riot Games to drop G2 Esports' candidacy.
