FunPlus Phoenix confirms willingness to sell VALORANT roster

Chinese esports organization FunPlus Phoenix has released an official statement confirming its readiness to sell the VALORANT roster . In the near future, the club will work with its players to help them find new teams.

Today we are sharing the sad news that Riot Games has not chosen us to participate in the VCT Partner Program in 2023. Which means we won't be able to compete in the VALORANT Major League next year. On behalf of FunPlus Phoenix, we are shocked and disappointed with this result.

During 2022, we went through many difficult circumstances, but everyone on the team always stuck together, showed outstanding sportsmanship and strived for the best results in every game. A series of adversities led us to a phenomenal result: we won the VCT Challengers, took the championship at Masters 2 and took the TOP-4 at Champions. We are the best team in EMEA and we are proud of it.

Since entering the region, we have been committed to building a vibrant culture and planned to make long-term investments in VALORANT esports in EMEA. But now we will focus on taking care of our players and their immediate future. We would like to express our deepest gratitude to all the fans for your love and continued support over the years. You all made every moment of this wonderful journey more memorable and bright!

The original line-up of FunPlus Phoenix was formed at the end of 2020. Having undergone minor changes at the end of last season, the European team has become the strongest representative of its region.

In the last nine months alone, FunPlus Phoenix has won VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Stage 1 Challengers and VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: Stage 2 Masters - Copenhagen, and placed second in VALORANT Champions Tour 2022: EMEA Stage 2 Challengers.

Recall that some well-known organizations said goodbye to their teams the day before, including G2 Esports, Acend, BIG, Version1 and Ninjas in Pajamas.
