Version1 disbands roster and considers leaving VALORANT
North American esports organization Version1 has announced it is parting ways with its VALORANT roster. In addition, the club is beginning to evaluate its future prospects in the discipline, exploring the possibility of leaving the shooter from Riot Games.
Version1 was not invited to the Americas Partner Program for the next season of VCT. We are disappointed, but we express our sincere congratulations to the teams that did get selected.
When we entered VALORANT we knew we were going into a partnership/franchise format, which is very selective. We are proud of how our staff and players have risen to the challenge, solidified their position on the scene and submitted their application to Riot Games.
We will evaluate the format of the TIER-2 scene before making any decisions about our future within the VCT, and will support our players in exploring opportunities on other teams.
The Version1 organization unveiled the VALORANT roster in February 2021. During this time, the team has made several changes, having won the Knights Monthly Gauntlet - March and NSG: Winter Championship - Open 4, taking second place in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: North America Stage 2 Challengers Finals, and also taking part in the VALORANT Champions Tour 2021: Stage 2 Masters - Reykjavik.
Nevertheless, the past season cannot be called successful for the team, which did not qualify for any international tournament, and also missed the summer split.
List of partner organizations for the American League: Sentinels, 100 Thieves, Cloud9, NRG Esports, Evil Geniuses, FURIA, LOUD, MIBR, Leviatán Esports and KRÜ Esports.
