Rocket League will be shareware
Developers from Psyonix and Panic Button Games have announced the transition of Rocket League to a shareware distribution model. All those who wish will be able to try the game from September 23rd.
With the transition of Rocket League to a free distribution model, it will disappear from Steam. However, all owners of the game on the Valve site will be able to continue playing. Also on September 23rd, the Rocket League will feature cross-progress for all platforms. In addition to this, everyone who played before the F2P model will receive bonuses in the form of achievements and cosmetic items. But this is not all news.
PS4 and Nintendo Switch will no longer require a paid subscription for multiplayer. Xbox One players will have to continue paying for Xbox Live Gold to play online.
