ViolentPanda announces retirement from pro player
ViolentPanda has announced his retirement from professional esports. The 23-year-old Dutch decided to hang up the joystick to continue his work as a coach or leader. Jos van Meers announced this on his personal Twitter page.
After six years of competition and achieving everything I ever wanted as a player, from winning small tournaments to becoming a world champion. I decided it was time to put the joystick down. Thank you to all my fans for the support I have received throughout most of my life. Thank you to everyone who gave me the opportunity to represent them, and I hope I have repaid you ten times more than you gave me.
I will use the skills I have gained in six years as a player/captain on and off the pitch to develop my career further. Now I'm looking for a coaching role or a stage management position.
ViolentPanda appeared on the scene at the end of 2015. The 23-year-old Dutchman went on to change to several big clubs, including Gale Force eSports, Dignitas, Heroic and Sector One. During his professional career, he managed to win many major championships, including RLCS Season 4 - Finals, RLCS Season 5 - Finals, DreamHack Pro Circuit: Leipzig 2019 and RLCS Season 9 - Europe.
ViolentPanda spent the last months of his career with The 3 Musketeers, where he failed to qualify for RLCS 2022-23 - Fall: Europe Regional 1 - Fall Open.
