Back in April 2025, it was confirmed Split Fiction will get a movie adaptation, with Jon M. Chu (In the Heights, Wicked) set to direct, Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (Deadpool and Wolverine) serving as screenwriters, and Sydnee Sweeney (Euphoria, The White Lotus) playing one of the lead roles.

As reported by Dexerto, according to Hazelight Studios boss Josef Fares, Split Fiction movie has received “the first version of the script,” and this might indicate more updates for the upcoming adaptation are expected soon. Fares also added he had conversations with Sydney Sweeney and was excited to see her in Split Fiction adaptation.

Split Fiction is a co-op video game that features two writers trapped in the adventures of each other’s stories—fantasy and sci-fi. Just like all Hazelight Studios projects, the game is full of diverse and unique action, great level design, and variable gameplay.
