PUBG Adds Prop Hunt Mode at Last — But There’s a Big Catch
PUBG: Battlegrounds has finally introduced the highly requested Prop Hunt mode—but there’s a catch: it’s only available for a limited time. First released in 2017 as PlayerUnknown’s Battlegrounds, PUBG quickly became one of the most successful battle royale games ever, selling over 75 million copies worldwide. Its formula remains simple yet addictive—players drop onto a map and fight to be the last one standing.
Despite heavy competition from titles like Fortnite and Call of Duty: Warzone, PUBG has maintained a strong player base thanks to регулярні updates and fresh content. Recently, developers even teased a crossover with Stellar Blade, hinting at the arrival of the character Eve. Now, building on that momentum, the team has delivered one of the community’s most requested features.
Prop Hunt Mode Arrives in PUBG
The new Prop Hunt mode is now live and will be available from March 31 to April 7. This limited-time mode introduces a hide-and-seek style gameplay where players are divided into two roles: Hunters and Props.
- Hunters must find and eliminate all disguised players before time runs out.
- Props transform into objects and attempt to stay hidden until the round ends.

Each match includes 12 players, with 9 playing as Props and 3 as Hunters. At the start of every round, players can choose their preferred role.
The gameplay follows a structured format. During the preparation phase, Props are given a temporary speed boost to find hiding spots and disguise themselves. Meanwhile, Hunters are confined to a restricted zone with limited visibility. Once the round begins, Hunters search the map—but shooting incorrectly comes at a cost, as hitting non-prop objects reduces their health.
To balance things out, Props have access to several abilities, including a Stun Gun, Decoy, and Prop Switch, allowing them to confuse and evade Hunters. Toward the end of each round, Fever Time activates, granting Hunters stronger weapons and removing penalties for missed shots.
The mode is available across multiple maps, including Miramar, Rondo, and Vikendi, marking PUBG’s official entry into the growing list of games featuring Prop Hunt gameplay.
Community Reaction and Concerns
The response from players on platforms like Reddit and Twitter has been largely positive, with many welcoming the new mode. However, a common request has emerged—fans want Prop Hunt to become a permanent feature rather than a temporary event. The mode has already drawn returning players back into the game, highlighting its appeal.

At the same time, not everything in the PUBG ecosystem is thriving. The spin-off title PUBG: Blindspot struggled to gain traction due to criticism over its lack of originality, technical issues, and overall слабкий experience. As a result, developer Team ARC officially shut down the game on March 30, 2026.
This decision has raised concerns about the future of another upcoming spin-off, PUBG: Black Budget, which is still in development. For now, fans can only wait to see what direction Krafton will take with the franchise moving forward.
