PUBG Ends PS4 and Xbox One Support This November — Next-Gen Gets a Visual Boost
Developers of major live-service titles are steadily phasing out support for older consoles. PUBG: Battlegrounds is the latest to join the trend, with its PlayStation 4 and Xbox One editions scheduled to shut down on November 13.
That same day, players on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S will receive a visual upgrade featuring enhanced lighting, improved draw distances, and better overall illumination. While the update promises a cleaner, more detailed look, it won’t bring sweeping changes to the game’s visuals.
According to the developers, dropping past-gen support is aimed at ensuring a consistent and stable experience across the player base, especially as upcoming updates become increasingly demanding — updates that older hardware would struggle to run smoothly.
