POCO F6 Users Frustrated by 120 FPS Limitation in PUBG Mobile — Fix in Progress

Despite boasting powerful specs and a 120Hz display, the POCO F6 has been unable to run PUBG Mobile at its full potential. Players have reported being locked at 90 FPS, even when selecting the 120 FPS setting—leading to disappointment among those who purchased the device for competitive gaming.

This limitation has now been officially acknowledged in the Vol-198 HyperOS Weekly Bug Report, where Xiaomi confirmed that a fix is in development. The issue affects users running HyperOS version OS2.0.103.0.VNPINXM.

🔍 What’s Causing the Problem?

Although the POCO F6 is technically capable of delivering high frame rates, players are experiencing:

  • A hard cap at 90 FPS, regardless of selected settings
  • Frame drops during graphically intense gameplay
  • Game Turbo settings not applying correctly to PUBG Mobile
  • Inconsistent frame rates across different game modes

These issues significantly impact the smoothness and responsiveness competitive players rely on for fast-paced actions and precision aiming. In short: the hardware is ready, but the software isn't keeping up.

⚙️ Temporary Workarounds (With Limited Results)

While awaiting an official patch, some users have experimented with the following:

  • Clearing the game’s cache
  • Setting Game Turbo to “Extreme” mode
  • Disabling battery optimization for PUBG Mobile
  • Using Game Turbo plugins

These tweaks offer only partial improvements. None fully unlock the 120 FPS potential, highlighting the need for a system-level fix from Xiaomi.

🛠️ Fix in Progress, Says Xiaomi

Xiaomi’s bug report confirms:

“This issue is being worked on.”

The company’s engineering team is actively addressing the bug. Based on past update cycles, the fix is expected to roll out in an upcoming OTA update. No exact timeline has been shared yet.

🔔 Want Early Access to the Fix?

Users can try MemeOS Enhancer, available on the Play Store. This app enables early access to upcoming fixes, activates hidden Xiaomi features, and streamlines system app updates directly from your device.

🎮 A Step Toward the Experience POCO F6 Promised

Once resolved, the 120 FPS cap should be lifted—allowing PUBG Mobile to run as fluidly as the POCO F6 was designed to handle. For gamers who value performance, this fix is more than welcome and underscores Xiaomi’s ongoing commitment to delivering top-tier gaming capabilities.
