PUBG: Battlegrounds Unveils Plans for 8th Anniversary Celebration

PUBG: Battlegrounds is gearing up to celebrate its eighth anniversary with a month-long event packed with exclusive rewards, including themed skins and in-game currency, available on both PC and consoles. Since its debut in 2017, PUBG: Battlegrounds has built a massive fanbase and remains one of the most popular games worldwide.

As the pioneer of the battle royale genre’s mainstream success, Krafton's PUBG: Battlegrounds played a key role in shaping the industry, paving the way for competitors like Fortnite and Apex Legends. Over the past eight years, the multiplayer title has maintained a dedicated audience across PC, PlayStation, Xbox, and mobile, with a significant number of players still actively engaging in matches. Despite its age, PUBG: Battlegrounds continues to drive Krafton's revenue and regularly records close to a million concurrent players on Steam alone. To mark this milestone, the developers have revealed a lineup of new content and rewards set to roll out during the anniversary festivities.

PUBG: Battlegrounds 8th Anniversary Event Details

The 8th-anniversary celebrations will run from March 12 to April 7 on PC and from March 20 to April 15 on consoles. During this period, players can log in with their Krafton ID and click the Join Event button to claim the 8th Anniversary Pack and Lucky G-Coin Box. Additionally, logging into the game between March 12-25 on PC and March 20-April 2 on consoles will grant up to 350 Event Tokens, 200 G-Coins, 70 Contraband Coupons, a Hunter’s Chest, and a Key—along with themed items such as two unique skins, a victory dance, a nameplate, and an emblem. Players can also redeem rewards from the Token Shop, including Orbital Vanguard skins, themed weapon camos, new victory dances, and more.

Event Timeline:

• PC: March 12, 12 AM PST/ 3 AM EST – April 7, 7 PM PST/ 10 PM EST
• Consoles: March 20, 12 AM PST/ 3 AM EST – April 15, 7 PM PST/ 10 PM EST

Beyond login rewards, additional items will be unlockable by completing specific in-game objectives. Players can earn Event Tokens, Contraband Coupons, and other rewards by meeting challenges such as surviving a set number of minutes or dealing a certain amount of damage. The developers have also teased hidden anniversary drops scattered throughout PUBG: Battlegrounds’ iconic Erangel map for players to discover.

Meanwhile, Krafton is expanding the PUBG universe with PUBG: Blindspot, a tactical shooter spin-off announced in February 2025. While details remain limited, the game is slated for a PC release in the future.
