Step Back in Time: PUBG's Original Erangel Classic Map Returns for Limited Time in Update 29.2!
Krafton has revealed that PUBG: Battlegrounds will reintroduce its original Erangel Classic map for a brief period starting this May, coinciding with update 29.2.
Erangel Classic is a faithful re-creation of PUBG's inaugural map, crafted to stir nostalgia among players familiar with the game's early access phase. The map will retain its original design and ambiance but will be merged with current gameplay elements to offer a distinct retro gaming experience.
Among the nostalgic features, benches scattered with weapons will make a return to the starting island. Additionally, the gunplay will be adjusted to recapture the essence of early PUBG gameplay, including reduced recoil on most weapons and the re-introduction of the Tommy Gun to the Care Package.
The map will also see the return of foggy and rainy weather conditions, alongside vintage world map and mini-map graphics. Erangel Classic will be playable in Normal Match mode for a short window from May 23rd to June 6th on Xbox and PlayStation, after its initial launch on PC.
