Overwatch 2’s New Hero Wuyang Gets 5-Day Trial Event

Overwatch 2 has officially opened the doors for players to try Wuyang, the upcoming Season 18 support hero, in a special five-day trial. From August 14 at 10 AM PT through August 19 at 10 AM PT, players can jump into Quick Play matches and test out his unique, water-themed abilities.

📅 Trial Schedule

  • Start: August 14, 2025 – 10 AM PT
  • End: August 19, 2025 – 10 AM PT
  • Duration: 5 full days (120 hours)

⚠️ Restrictions:

  • Playable only in Quick Play and Stadium modes.
  • No Competitive Play access during the trial.
  • No badge or stat progress for Wuyang during this period.

💡 Fun fact: Most Overwatch 2 hero trials last 4 days — this one gives an extra day to experiment.

🌀 Wuyang — Abilities Overview

Primary Weapon – Xuanwu Staff

  • Primary Fire: Launches a controllable water orb to damage enemies, great for airborne targets.
  • Secondary Fire: Provides a passive heal-over-time to allies; can be temporarily boosted for stronger healing (similar to Mercy’s Caduceus Staff).

Guardian Wave

  • Sends out a wave that boosts ally healing and disrupts enemy positioning.

Rushing Torrent

  • Grants burst mobility to quickly reposition or escape danger.

Ultimate – Tidal Blast

  • Shields self or an ally briefly, then detonates to heal the target massively and knock down nearby enemies.

⏭️ What’s Next After the Trial?

Wuyang officially joins the Overwatch 2 roster on August 26, 2025, with the launch of Season 18 — just one week after the trial ends.

Season 18 will also include:
