Overwatch 2 Releases New Mythic Weapon Skin for Ana: Midnight Sun
Overwatch 2 has officially unveiled "Midnight Sun," the latest Mythic weapon skin for Ana. This skin comes with unique sound effects, special animations, and customizable visual elements. Players can obtain it for 80 Mythic Prisms through the Premium Battle Pass, or purchase it outright for $40.
Mythic weapon skins were introduced in Overwatch 2 during Season 11, offering more detailed customization compared to regular skins. These special skins include personalized HUD features, responsive gameplay elements, and intricate weapon flourishes. The first Mythic skin, Bound Demon for Reinhardt, debuted in Season 11, and now "Midnight Sun" follows as the second Mythic weapon skin for Ana in Season 12.
Midnight Sun Overview
The solar-themed "Midnight Sun" skin transforms Ana’s weapon, adding visual and audio elements that change depending on her actions. When Ana heals allies or deals damage to enemies, the weapon shifts color to reflect her role in combat. Additionally, the skin comes with a special flourish animation where Ana spins her Sleep Dart gun, and a dramatic kill effect where enemies are struck by a flaming sword of sunlight upon death.
Cost and Tier Breakdown
The "Midnight Sun" skin can be purchased in four tiers:
- Tier 1 (50 Prisms): Custom scope and special weapon sounds.
- Tier 2 (10 Prisms): Weapon color change based on healing or damage.
- Tier 3 (10 Prisms): Special flourish animation where Ana twirls her gun.
- Tier 4 (10 Prisms): Kill effect with a blazing sword over defeated enemies.
The total cost is 80 Mythic Prisms, equivalent to completing the Premium Battle Pass, or it can be bought directly for $40. While some might consider the price steep, those who don't wish to buy it outright can accumulate Mythic Prisms from future Battle Passes to unlock the skin.
For Ana mains, "Midnight Sun" is a highly anticipated addition to Overwatch 2's growing list of Mythic weapon skins, and it will remain available in the Mythic shop indefinitely for players to purchase whenever they’re ready.
