Overwatch 2 has been released
The big day for Overwatch fans has arrived. Overwatch 2, the sequel to Blizzard's multiplayer IP of the same name, has been released on Battle.net.
With the release of the game, the first season of Overwatch 2 has started. Everyone can try out all the innovations of the game in multiplayer.
New Overwatch 2 Format
In Overwatch 2, Blizzard will move away from the 6v6 battle format. Instead, 5v5 battles, more standard for games of the genre, will come to the multiplayer shooter.
New characters
With the release of Overwatch 2, 3 new characters appeared in the game at once: Sojourn, Junker Queen and Kiriko. Each new character will introduce a different class - Sojourn will be a damage dealer, Junker Queen will be a tank, and Kiriko will be a support character .
All heroes will appear in Overwatch with the release of the first season, which starts today. Kiriko will be available in the Battle Pass, more on that below.
Overwatch 2 Battle Pass
In the sequel, Blizzard is moving to a shareware distribution model with the Battle Pass in-game. It will be divided into two parts: premium and free.
Characters such as Kiriko can be unlocked in the free rewards feed, while owners of the premium rewards will be able to replenish their collection of cosmetic items with skins, sprays, graffiti and other delights of shareware shooters.
New Overwatch 2 Mode
With the launch of the first season of Overwatch 2, the Onslaught mode will appear in the game. The essence is simple - you must help the NPC to push the trolley to a certain point.
New cards
At the release of the multiplayer, players will be able to explore new locations for battles, the number of which will be constantly updated. With the first season in Overwatch 2, New York, Rome, Monte Carlo and Toronto are available for stunting.
All of the aforementioned additions will add the game along with Overwatch 2's multiplayer mode, which will be free for everyone. The main engine of the sequel is intended to be a PvE mode with a single player campaign, which is scheduled to appear next year.
