League of Legends Preseason: Players Shape the Future with New Support Item 'Go Fast with Friends
Riot Games is offering League of Legends players a unique opportunity to shape the development of a new support item tailored specifically for tanks as part of the preseason changes. This forthcoming item, currently referred to as "Go Fast with Friends", is scheduled for release at the beginning of the next year, coinciding with a comprehensive revamp of existing in-game items. Riot is not only soliciting input on the item's name but also on its visual effects.
In a recent blog post by the Summoner's Rift team, details about the new support item were unveiled. It is designed to enhance out-of-combat mobility for tanks and their allies. While it shares some thematic similarities with the existing Shurelya's Battlesong item, it boasts distinct features that set it apart.
As the item's holder moves, they gain bonus movement speed, extending the same benefit to nearby allies. Introducing an intriguing mechanic reminiscent of Dead Man's Plate, the item also incorporates stacking; once maximum stacks are reached, attacking an enemy triggers a slowing effect.
Currently, Riot is in the process of deciding on a thematic design for the item. To involve the player community further in this creative journey, three distinct themes, each representing different locations within Runeterra, have been presented for a vote. This represents a rare opportunity for players to directly influence not only the item's name but also its thematic elements.
Here are the three themes that players can choose from:
Eerie Invitation
Trailblazer
Scout's Fanfare
The voting process is seamlessly integrated into the League of Legends client, making it easy for players to participate. Here are the three simple steps to cast your vote for your preferred theme for the upcoming new item:
- Open League of Legends
- Go to the Overview Tab in the client
- Cast your vote for your preferred theme
The voting period will remain open until the upcoming deadline on Friday, October 6. Once this period concludes, the selected theme is expected to be seamlessly integrated into the preseason changes, with the patch set to be introduced to the PBE on November 20.
This collaborative approach underscores Riot Games' commitment to engaging its player base in the creative evolution of the game, fostering a sense of community and shared ownership in the ongoing development of League of Legends.
