League of Legends Patch 13.1 Released
With the start of the new season in League of Legends, Riot Games has announced the first major patch of the new year. The developers introduced update 13.1 with which they reworked the balance of characters, items, and more.
A total of 14 characters have been changed in patch 13.1: 6 will be nerfed, 6 will be buffed, and 2 will be partially reworked. In addition, 6 items will be changed.
Champion Changes in Patch 13.1
Let's start with reworked or partially redesigned champions. This is Jax and Ramus.
Jax used in the top lane, mid lane, and jungle will get an additional ultimate effect. This slightly diversifies the gameplay for him:
Jax
True Master's Might[R]
NEW ACTIVE: Jax brandishes his lantern, dealing 150/250/350 (+100% Ability Power) magic damage to nearby enemies. Hitting a champion gains 25/45/65 (+40% bonus AD) armor. In addition, he gains an additional 15/20/25% (+10% bonus AD) armor for each champion hit for 8 seconds. He also increases his magic resistance by 60% of these values. During this time, Jax deals bonus magic damage every second basic attack, instead of every third.
Another character that received a rework is Ramus. In the off-season, the jungle was a success, and in some places seemed broken due to the build through Jac'Shaw of the Many Faces in synergy with the Guard Posture[W]ability. That is why Riot revised this bundle.
Rammus
- Fixed Armor: 40 – 25
- Percentage Armor: 60/70/80/90/100% - 40/55/70/85/100%
- OK Formula: Fixed Armor Bonus now has a percentage of[W]
Under the "scissors" were mostly top line characters: Aatrox, Doctor Mundo. Fiora, K'Sante. However, the nerf will affect the bot lanes as well: support Yumi and Strelka Zeri.

- Physical Damage: 70/80/90/100/110 (+95/100/105/110/115% bonus AD) – 70/80/90/100/110 (+90/95/100/105/110 % of bonus attack power)
K`Sante
- Base damage: 10-25 (depending on level) - 5-20 (depending on level)
Break Through[W]
- Minimum Physical Damage: 4.25/4.5/4.75/5/5.25% of the target's maximum health - 2/2.25/2.5/2.75/3% of the target's maximum health
- Max Physical Damage: 8.25/8.5/8.75/9/9.25% of target's max health - 7/7.25/7.5/7.75/8% of target's max health
Yumi
Cat and Mouse[Q]
- Base Damage: 50/90/130/170/210/250 – 50/80/110/140/170/200
- Supported Skill Base Damage: 60/110/160/210/260/310 – 60/100/140/180/220/260
Zeri
- Attack Power Growth: 1.5 - 1.3
- Total base physical damage: 15/18/21/24/27 – 15/17/19/21/23
Improvements received a number of characters of different roles. These are toppers Jace and Sion, mid-laners Lissandra and Twisted Fate, jungler/support Shako, as well as shooter Shay.

- Red Card Magic Damage: 30/45/60/75/90 (+100% AD) (+60% AD) – 30/45/60/75/90 (+100% AD) (+ 70% of ability power)
Lissandra
Main characteristics
- Health Growth: 104 – 110
- Slow: 16/19/22/25/28% – 20/24/28/32/36%
Ring of Frost[W]
- Cooldown: 14/13/12/11/10 seconds - 12/11/10/9/8 seconds
Shako
- Mana Cost: 60 – 40
- Extra Critical Damage on Backstab: 30% – 40%
- Magic Damage: 70/95/120/145/170 (+75% bonus AD) (+60% AP) – 70/95/120/145/170 (+80% bonus AD) (+ 60% of ability power)
- Magic Damage to Targets Below 30% Health: 105/142.5/180/217.5/255 (+112.5% bonus AD) (+90% AP) – 105/142.5 /180/217.5/255 (+120% bonus attack damage) (+90% ability power)
Shaya
- Attack Speed/ Attack Speed Ratio: 0.625 ⇒ 0.658
Several of the redesigned characters have experienced upheaval due to certain items. Riot decided to change them too.
Item Changes in Patch 13.1
The main item update in 13.1 is the changes to Jac'Shaw the Many-Faced and the Wand of Eternity.
Jacques'Shaw of the Many Faces
Cost: 3100 – 3200
- Void Protection Charges: 2 per second (increases overall defenses by 15% at max stacks) - 2 per second (increases additional defenses by 20% at max stacks)
- Siphon Damage: 3% Max Health - 80 (+7% Bonus Health)
- (new) CHAMPIONS ONLY: Void Guard's damage drain no longer affects minions and monsters
Wand of Eternity
- Health: 300 – 400
- Eternal Haste Activation Conditions: 250 Health or Mana Restored – 200 Health or Mana Restored
- Bonus Movement Speed from Eternity: 25% – 35%
- Boost duration: 2 seconds - 3 seconds
- Movement Speed Reduction: Eternity's movement speed now decays at a slower rate
Passive - Eternity
- Mana regen from damage before applying defensive stats: 8% - 7%
- Health regeneration based on mana cost: 20% - 25%
- Maximum Healing Per Skill Cast or Per Second (for toggle skills): 15 – 20
In addition to the above items, 4 more items have been changed. Herald of Winter (increased the amount of health received), Hextech Scope (increased ability power), Chakram Axiom (increased lethality) received a boost.
Another global change has affected the Staff of the Archangel and its improved form - Embrace of the Seraphim. The latter will help mages in the later stages of the game.
Staff of the Archangel
- Total cost: 2600 – 3000
- Ability Power: 60 – 80
- Skill Acceleration: 0 - 10
- Passive - Awe: Gain 0.5% of bonus Mana Ability Haste - Gain 1% of bonus Mana Ability Power
Embrace of the seraph
- Passive - Lifeline: When you take damage that brings you below 30% health, you gain a shield for 250 (+20% of your current mana) (90s cooldown)
- Passive - Reverence: Gain 1.3% bonus mana ability haste ⇒ Gain 2.5% bonus mana ability power
