Gen.G Esports said goodbye to Ophelia

Gen.G Esports announced on their Twitter account and other media that there was one less Gen.G Challengers in their roster. The esports club said goodbye to Ophelia. Baek Jin-song joined the team on March 31, 2020 and moved to Rainbow 7 on May 17. In total, he spent more than two years in an esports organization, which is not very common on the professional scene.

During his time with the team, Ophelia has played in several leagues for academic rosters and has repeatedly finished second and once won. He became a silver medalist at the KeG 2020 Championship, placed 3rd in the LCK Challengers League Spring 2021 standings and won the LCK Challengers League Summer 2021, for which he earned $25,886 with the team. In 2022, he was named to the LCK Spring 2022 as a substitute for Gen.G Esports' starting roster. The team reached the very finals and took second place in the championship and earned $81,830.

The entire esports path of Ophelia passed under the tag of the Gen.G Esports club, and in 2 years of his career he managed to overcome the bar of $25,000 in prize money earned. Now, for the first time in his life, he signs a contract with another organization and will try his hand at a new place.

In Rainbow7 he will join the likes of Kim 'SoHwan' Jun-yong, Sebastian 'Oddie' Alono Nino Zavaleta, Lorenzo 'Ceo' Tevez, Eduardo 'Slow' Franco Garces Cerda and David 'Daiky' Esteban Vasco Meiya. The latter is listed as a reserve forester. On May 16, it became known about the departure of the mid-laner of the team, Pak 'Cepted' Wee-rim. Now Ophelia has entered the roster and filled the vacancy.

The last tournament in which Rainbow7 took part before the arrival of Ophelia was LLA Opening 2022. There the team took 3rd place and earned a reward of $5,000.

As of now, Rainbow7 has no events planned. The team will be engaged in training in order to successfully perform at the championship later.
