Halo Infinite Player Creates Stunning Parkour Map That Feels Like Mirror’s Edge
A skilled Halo Infinite player has unveiled an impressive parkour map that gives the game a distinct Mirror's Edge vibe. Footage of the map in action highlights that Halo Infinite is more than just a top-tier first-person shooter.
The introduction of Forge mode was a game-changer for Halo Infinite. Though its absence at launch was controversial, the eventual release of this staple feature delivered the most advanced map creation tool in the series’ history. Many community-made Forge maps have even been integrated into Halo Infinite's matchmaking playlists due to their exceptional quality. Players continue to push Forge mode to its limits, showcasing incredible creativity—some have even recreated classic levels from Halo: Combat Evolved within Infinite’s Forge.
Reddit user Zezno_ shared footage of their remarkable Halo Infinite Forge map, which focuses entirely on parkour. The map utilizes several of the game's movement mechanics, including clambering and double-jumping, to create an engaging and dynamic traversal experience. Some sections even incorporate moving elements that require precise timing to navigate successfully. As of now, the map remains a work in progress, with Zezno_ admitting they have "no real idea when it will be finished."
A New Parkour Map Brings Mirror’s Edge Feel to Halo Infinite
The creator explained that they designed this map because they weren’t particularly fond of most community-made parkour maps, which often feel like "curb slide simulators" and lack engaging variety. While parkour-focused maps cater to a niche audience, they are undeniably satisfying to play, thanks to Halo Infinite’s fluid movement mechanics. With any luck, Zezno_ will continue refining and expanding their creation as development progresses.
The Halo franchise appears to be at a crucial turning point. With 343 Industries rebranding as Halo Studios, the series is seemingly gearing up for a fresh start. Meanwhile, persistent rumors suggest that Halo could be making its way to PlayStation 5—an unthinkable prospect just a few years ago. If true, this shift could present a major opportunity to introduce Halo to a whole new audience of PlayStation gamers who have never experienced the franchise before.
