G2 Esports Disbands Halo Roster
The European esports organization G2 Esports announced the parting with its Halo roster. This is not the first change in status among the partners of the Halo Championship Series, while the future of G2 Esports in the discipline remains unknown.
Today we say goodbye to the G2 Esports Halo team. Thanks for an amazing year.
G2 Esports signed their first Halo roster last November. Last season, the North American team became the winner of Road to Raleigh 2K, HCS 2021-22 North America Open Series 4 and HCS 2021-22 North America Open Series 5, and also made it to the top three at HCS 2021-22 North America Open Series 8, HCS 2021-22 North America Pro Series 1, HCS 2021-22 North America Open Series 5 and HCS 2021-22 North America Open Series 6.
In addition, the team took part in all major championships, including Halo Championship Series 2021: Kickoff Major (9th-12th place), Halo Championship Series 2022: Kansas City Major (9th-12th place), Halo Championship Series 2022: Orlando Major (5th -6th place) and Halo World Championship 2022 (9th-12th place).
It's unclear if the organization plans to remain in the discipline, as it hasn't provided further details. Several partner teams have said goodbye to their rosters lately, leaving future Halo appearances in doubt.
