Media: Diablo II remake is already in development

Just a few hours ago, we wrote about the Vicarious Visions merger with Blizzard, as new details of the deal are floating around the net. According to Bloomberg, the newly arrived studio is already working on a remake of the legendary Diablo II.

However, the development has been going on for several years. Previously, the project was assigned to Team 1, which was also responsible for Warcraft III, StarCraft II, Heroes of the Storm and the failed Warcraft III: Reforged.

However, the failure of Warcraft III: Reforged had devastating consequences for Team 1. Based on documents obtained by Bloomberg, the development team was actually disbanded: a small part of the staff remained in other departments of Blizzard, while the rest of the specialists left the company.

Now Vicision Studios is working on the remake, as well as part of the staff developing Diablo IV. So far, there is practically no information about the Diablo II remake, but its name is known - Diablo II: Resurrected.
