Media: Microsoft plans to expand even more
The well-known publication Bloomberg reports that Microsoft plans to expand the already rather large list of studios controlled by them. According to Bloomberg, they have already approached several Japanese companies with an offer to buy their businesses.
So far, no official deals have taken place, but the Japanese division of Xbox does not deny the possibility of acquiring Japanese studios. At the same time, Microsoft decided to take care of more games on Xbox and are already in talks with Koei Tecmo. The Japanese studio is ready to release games for the Xbox if they show continued interest in Japan.
The acquisition of Japanese studios will strengthen Microsoft's position in the Japanese market. To date, sales of Xbox One account for only 0.1% of the Japanese console market, while the main competitor in the person of Sony takes about 10.1%, and Nintendo Switch does all 89.8%.
