Ubisoft postponed the release date of two games
Ubisoft is keeping up with the new trend to postpone the release date of games and in response to CD Project RED, which postponed the release of Cyberpunk 2077 for 3 weeks, announced a change in the release date of two games at once instead of one. Far Cry 6 and Rainbow Six Quarantine were their victims. According to the developers, the games should be released between April 2021 and March 2022. Initially, Ubisoft planned to release the aforementioned projects until April 1, 2021. Far Cry 6 had a specific date - February 18th.
Improvement of titles in order to unleash their full potential in the context of production difficulties was cited as the main reason. The latter were caused by the COVID-19 pandemic and knocked down more than a dozen developers, thereby violating the integrity of video game development.
Frederic Dughet, Ubisoft's CFO hasn't left fans without good news. According to him, the games should appear on the shelves of retail stores and online sites in the first half of the next financial year, that is, from April to October 2021.
