Crucible fell short of Amazon's hopes
Amazon's gaming division has disappointed few fans of the online shooter Crucible. The development team announced the closure of the servers, which, by the way, will happen on November 9th.
The reason for the closure is banal: the gamer did not appreciate the project, and it did not become popular. The authors of the project will be transferred to the development of a potential Amazon flagship - MMORPG New World. New World was supposed to be released this year, but to play it safe, they decided to postpone it until early 2020.
As for Crucible, the game had been in development for about six years, and reached the release in May 2020. However, the shooter was so unpopular that the developers launched a re-beta test and removed two of the three modes to reduce the search time for matches.
