Wolfenstein Series in the Works at Amazon Following Fallout’s Success

Riding high on the success of the Fallout TV series, ZeniMax is doubling down on screen adaptations of its biggest franchises — and next up is Wolfenstein, a fan-favorite series that’s been dormant for nearly eight years.

The Wolfenstein series is being developed by Amazon MGM Studios, with Fallout showrunner Patrick Somerville returning to lead the project. The production team reunites Fallout’s powerhouse trio — Jonathan Nolan, Lisa Joy, and Athena Wickham of Kilter Films — who will serve as executive producers. They’re joined by James Altman from Keyframe Films and longtime Wolfenstein game designer Jerk Gustafsson.

So far, only one plot detail has been confirmed: it’s about killing Nazis — true to the franchise’s roots in alt-history action and resistance storytelling.

This isn’t the first time Wolfenstein was eyed for adaptation. Back in 2012, Panorama Media announced a film version that never moved forward. With the current momentum from Fallout and Amazon’s proven interest in prestige video game adaptations, there’s hope this new project finally brings B.J. Blazkowicz to the screen in full force.
