Helldivers 2 Sales Top 23 Million Copies as Revenue Nears $800 Million

Helldivers 2 came out almost two years ago, but it’s still one of Sony’s biggest hits. According to new estimates from analytics firm Alinea Analytics, sales of Arrowhead Game Studios’ co-op shooter have topped 23 million copies across all platforms, with total revenue reaching about $786.3 million.

Although Sony publishes Helldivers 2, the game’s biggest platform isn’t PlayStation but PC. According to Alinea, Steam accounts for 66.1% of all sales, meaning roughly two out of three players bought the shooter on PC. PlayStation 5 has a 25.7% share. The Xbox Series X|S version only came out a year and a half after launch, so it makes up just 8.3%.

The game is still selling, though not at the pace it did at launch. Since the start of 2026 alone, Helldivers 2 has sold more than 2.5 million copies and brought in about $81.1 million. For comparison, in January, Alinea estimated the game’s sales at over 20 million copies and more than $700 million in revenue. That means the shooter has added around 3 million more copies sold in less than a year.

The most interesting part of the new data is how much time players spend in Helldivers 2. Analysts estimate that more than 4 million players have logged over 100 hours in the shooter, and 462,000 have defended Super Earth for more than 500 hours. For a game that many see as a fun co-op shooter for a few evenings with friends, those are very high numbers.

On average, about 700,000 players log into Helldivers 2 every day, and that number rises noticeably during major updates and new story events. Arrowhead keeps interest in the game alive with regular updates that add new enemies, weapons, and planets, and it runs a Galactic War whose outcome depends on the actions of the entire community.

The PlayStation Plus subscription brought in another wave of players. In August, Helldivers 2 was added to the PS Plus Extra catalog, and according to Alinea’s estimates, that brought 1.6 million new players into the game.

It’s worth noting that all of this data comes from Alinea Analytics estimates, not official figures from Sony or Arrowhead. Sony last shared official Helldivers 2 sales numbers in 2024. At the time, the company said the game had sold 12 million copies in its first 12 weeks, making it the fastest-selling PlayStation game at that point.

Helldivers 2 has also had its share of problems. Shortly after launch, players were outraged by Sony’s requirement to link a PlayStation Network account to play on PC. Because of this, the game was pulled from sale for a while in many countries where PSN isn’t available, and Sony eventually reversed the decision.
