Fans Are Thinking About Whether the Alleged GTA 6 Leak Is True or Not

This year, GTA 6 faced its biggest leak since 2022: a hacker going by the nickname Cyberleek regularly posted gameplay clips from the game over a couple of months, but now that chapter is over (hopefully for good), and there are less than two weeks left until GTA 6's release—which is certainly good news.

Nevertheless, social media users are racking their brains over new videos that have gone viral. Specifically, videos are circulating on X, which closely resemble GTA 6 gameplay. The first video features a montage similar to the one made by Cyberleek, and the game’s visuals are strikingly similar to official gameplay footage. Toward the end of the second video, there are moments where the AI’s work stands out a bit too much, but the first part of it again looks like the officially released footage. All in all, it’s hard to say for sure, but it’s possible that the videos are indeed fakes, especially considering that Take-Two hasn’t made any effort to have them removed. You can check out both videos featuring the alleged GTA 6 gameplay below:

It's unlikely that Rockstar will release another official look at GTA 6, including a trailer or, even less likely, gameplay footage. But at the same time, this might actually be helpful for players, since they'll know less about the game—while already knowing quite a bit.

That said, the developers recently released a whole slew of new GTA 6 screenshots, and after examining them, fans have already spotted quite a few details. For example, they believe that Alex Hernandez—best known for his role as Lincoln Clay in Mafia III— is involved in the game’s development as an actor; he may have lent his likeness (and, if true, his voice) to one of the characters. Furthermore, Rockstar may have shown a scene from the game’s ending —at least, that’s the theory being discussed on social media, as Lucia is holding a gun and has tears in her eyes.
