New Hitman Game Seemingly in Development at IO Interactive

IO Interactive continues to release regular updates for Hitman: World of Assassination, but the studio apparently also has a new, full-fledged installment in the franchise in the works. This was revealed by none other than the actor who plays the lead role, Agent 47.

David Bateson, the voice actor for the iconic character, recently appeared at RetroGameCon, where he announced right from the stage that Hitman 4 is currently in active development. He also added that studio representatives haven't shared any plot details with him, as you can check out his comments below:

“If you aren't aware yet, Hitman 4 is real—they are working on it. I have absolutely no clue what it's about because they won't tell me a thing.”

Even before the release of 007 First Light, which the studio released this spring, IO Interactive confirmed that they would be returning to Hitman. It’s worth noting that Project Fantasy—a mysterious online project that lost its publisher, Xbox, this summer—is still in development. The game’s release date remains unknown, as it is believed to be in a very early stage of development.

Speaking of 007 First Light, IO Interactive's latest release to date, the game has become one of the top games of the year. It has sold well and received high praise from both players and critics.
