Creative Assembly Revealed New Details of Alien: Isolation 2

Alien: Isolation 2 is one of the most anticipated horror titles, especially for franchise fans. The first game, released in 2014, was a hit with players, and there’s a good chance the sequel will be even more thrilling.

Recently, Creative Assembly developers held a Q&A session related to Alien: Isolation 2. They confirmed that the game will have a physical release and also revealed quite a few gameplay details. Despite featuring outdoor locations, Isolation 2 will include levels with “claustrophobic interiors” where the player will feel trapped, while the Xenomorph will learn and adapt to open spaces. Speaking of the Xenomorph, the developers confirmed that it has become smarter and can “operate in spaces 10 times larger than the original.” Moreover, according to studio reps, “It's the purest expression of the 1979 original Alien.”

The plot details of Alien: Isolation 2 are largely unknown, but according to Creative Assembly, the story takes place months after the ending of the original. Recently, there have also been rumors the game might be released in 2027, but the developers are in no rush to announce a release date just yet.

As for other news regarding the franchise, according to THR, a new Alien movie is in development that will be connected to Prometheus and Alien: Covenant. Aaron Guzikowski (Prisoners, Raised by Wolves) is writing the script. Also, Cold Iron Studios, which released Aliens: Fireteam Elite 2 this summer, recently announced layoffs. The game itself received mixed reviews from critics and players (65 on Metacritic, 63 on OpenCritic).

Alien: Isolation 2 is officially in development for PC, Xbox Series X/S, PlayStation 5, and Nintendo Switch 2. The release date is currently unknown.
