New Star Wars Video Game Will Be Announced Soon

Two new games based on the Star Wars franchise were released this year, and both have been extremely successful. It seems that the announcement of yet another project is just around the corner, as confirmed by a reputable gaming journalist.

We’re talking about the new Star Wars Jedi game being developed by Electronic Arts and Respawn Entertainment. Previously, an insider had revealed that the trequel could be announced this year and released next year. An update on this was posted by Bloomberg journalist Jason Schreier; on his Bluesky page, he confirmed the game is in development and will be officially unveiled soon.

What does this mean for the third Star Wars Jedi from Respawn?

This question from a subscriber came after the release of a new article by Schreier stating that Electronic Arts had decided to focus on Star Wars Battlefront 3 instead of Mass Effect 5 (which was canceled, and BioWare was shut down) and that Respawn, in collaboration with DICE, will be the developers. However, full-scale work on the project has not yet begun, adds Schreier.

As for Star Wars Jedi 3, it’s worth keeping in mind that The Game Awards 2026 will take place in December, where the game could potentially be announced. Last year, two games based on the franchise were announced there: Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic and Star Wars: Galactic Racer.
