New Star Wars Video Game Rumored to Be Announced This Year and Released in 2027

Several Star Wars games are currently in the works, coming from different studios at various stages of development. And another highly anticipated title now looks set to join that list soon, with an announcement possibly coming before long and a 2027 release window.

According to insider FivesWalker, Respawn Entertainment is actively working on Star Wars Jedi 3, with the marketing campaign, as revealed by the insider, becoming sooner than expected. An official announcement shouldn't be far off either, potentially even before The Game Awards 2026. In a separate post, an insider also claimed Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic Remake could arrive sometime around late 2027 to early 2028.

Rumors about Star Wars Jedi 3 had already surfaced earlier this year. Reliable insider Tom Henderson had previously confirmed the game's development, mentioning it would include a time jump, and earlier reports also suggested it could be the franchise's most ambitious entry yet.

As for other Star Wars games, Arcanaut Studios is working on a new RPG, Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic, while development continues on the long-troubled Star Wars Eclipse at Quantic Dream and the previously mentioned Knights of the Old Republic Remake, developed by Saber Interactive/Mad Head Games. On the film side, recent reports confirmed Jon Watts, best known for the MCU's Spider-Man trilogy, will direct the next movie.
