Bethesda Honors the Memory of the Late Patrick Stewart—The Actor Appeared in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion
On October 29, it was announced that Patrick Stewart had passed away. The 86-year-old actor, best known for his roles as Professor Charles in the X-Men movies and Captain Jean-Luc Picard in Star Trek, had been suffering from dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, and the entire internet is literally paying tribute to the legendary actor and honoring his memory.
The actor also devoted part of his career to video games. Perhaps his most popular role was Uriel Septim VII in The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Bethesda Games Studios also paid tribute to the actor on its X page by posting a short and touching message, as you can see below:
Rest in peace to Sir Patrick Stewart — an emperor, a captain, and an inspiration to us all.
Our thoughts are with his loved ones.
Stewart also voiced Zobek in Castlevania: Lords of Shadow, served as the narrator in My Memory of Us, Felix the Reaper, and Shadow Point, and voiced his own characters—Professor X and Captain Jean-Luc Picard—in the X-Men and Star Trek video games, respectively. His latest role on the big screen will be in Avengers: Doomsday—a new MCU crossover set to premiere this December.
Speaking of The Elder Scrolls, a recent report confirmed TES VI will be subtitled Sentinel, and a full reveal of the game is scheduled for November, as Skyrim will celebrate its 15th anniversary next month. The Elder Scrolls VI was announced in 2018 and still has no release date.
