GTA 6 - All Fictional Apps and Real-Life Analogues We Know So Far
Following the release of GTA 6's launch trailer, Rockstar Games is unlikely to reveal any new official footage from the most anticipated game of the year—but that hasn't stopped fans from searching for information on their own. Given the game's scale, the level of detail is simply off the charts—and that's even considering that many aspects haven't been officially confirmed.
As is well known, GTA 6, like all previous installments, will feature various parodies of the real world. Given that the game is set in the present day, it will include a number of parody apps, including full-fledged social networks where NPCs will maintain their own real-life profiles. At this point, we only know a fraction of what awaits players, and, as pointed out by users on social media, below you’ll learn about the main apps that parody their real-world counterparts and will appear in GTA 6.
- Snapmatic - This app, which has already appeared in GTA 5 and GTA Online, is a social network in the style of Instagram and Snapchat. Reports say it will be showcased in greater detail. Players will be able to scroll through the feed to observe the inhabitants of the game world and will presumably also be able to gather information and even find missions. However, Jason and Lucia cannot maintain their own profiles, as they are on the run as part of the plot.
- Ryde Me—an Uber-style taxi-hailing service that will also offer a faster travel option. In the fifth installment, users had to call a phone number, but in the sixth, it’s expected that everything will be handled through the app, including online payment via a service similar to Apple Pay. It remains unclear at this time whether the app will feature a driver search function.
- WhatUp—as the title suggests—is a WhatsApp-like app that, as we saw in the gameplay trailer, the main characters use during missions and, likely, while exploring the open world. It’s not yet clear whether the app will include voice messages and video calls or if it will be limited to text messages only.
- WAINK - an app that scans vehicles to reveal their value, tracking devices, alarms, locks, and other features. This will reportedly help the main characters evade pursuit and subsequently assess the risk of being detected by the police in the event of a car theft.
- BuckMe - digital banking and financial management similar to Cash App and Venmo. The exact features remain unknown, as the app came to light due to a leak from the hacker Cyberleek.
- Fitness App—In GTA 6, characters will be able to visit gyms to monitor their health, just like in San Andreas. At the same time, they’ll have a full-fledged fitness app that displays their health metrics; as Rockstar North’s Rob Nelson confirmed, the app will indicate whether the main characters are sleep-deprived, which will also affect their well-being—and, consequently, gameplay.
- Scooter Bros - a delivery service for your personal vehicle. This feature was already available in GTA 5, but the sixth installment is expected to include a feature where, along with vehicles, the characters will be delivered weapons and other tools needed for heists or other missions.
- Peekhoole—as was revealed last week, GTA 6 will feature its own version of OnlyFans. Just like on social media, players will most likely be able to browse the feed and follow various users, but they won’t be able to post content themselves, so as not to draw unnecessary attention to their criminal past and present.
It’s assumed that this is by no means a complete list of GTA 6 apps that parody real-world equivalents and are designed to make the gameplay more realistic. Of course, it will take players a lot of time to explore all these features. Since the release of GTA 6 is just around the corner, hurry up and take advantage of this great offer to buy GTA 6 on Eneba—use the promo code EGW5 to get a 5% discount, and Eneba will also give you 14% cashback on your purchase.
Recently, it was also revealed the embargo on GTA 6 will lift on November 18, one day before the official release—this suggests players around the world will gain access to the game simultaneously, which helps prevent the spread of spoilers. Meanwhile, users have identified a likely actor who voiced Jason in GTA 6— it could be Rob Brinkmann, a trained theater actor and audiobook narrator.
Grand Theft Auto VI launches on November 19 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S.
